ABOUT THE JOB AND ABOUT THE TEAM:

We are looking for an energetic HR Director, a connecting leader with strong business acumen. You have extensive HR expertise, are strategically strong and pragmatic at the same time.


As HR Director at Vlisco, you are responsible for shaping and implementing the overall HR strategy. You will work closely together with your team consisting of 9 HR professionals in HR Management, HR Services & Operations, Recruitment and Internal Communications.

Vlisco is an evolving organisation and strives for an efficient and flexible set-up, fit for purpose. Guiding, supporting and implementing transformation and improvement initiatives (culture change) is therefore an important part of your job. As HR Director, you have vision and are able to coach the organisation and management in the changes and developments to come.


You will report directly to the CEO and play a crucial role as a strategic member of the management team.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support the realisation of the overall company objectives;
  • Build an organisation that is fit for purpose, structurally and culturally, and manage effectively organisational change;
  • Ensure solid (leadership) potential to realise succession to key positions;
  • Make Vlisco an employer of choice and find the best talent through an effective staffing strategy (in collaboration with hiring managers);
  • Develop learning and development programs to address performance gaps and further develop the (online) Vlisco academy;
  • Collaborate with department managers to drive employee engagement initiatives;
  • Oversee key HR topics at our African subsidiaries;
  • Participate in Supervisory Board meetings and manage the Remuneration Committee;
  • Ensure HR policies comply with labor laws and regulations;
  • Responsible for optimising and further professionalising the HR processes and systems;
  • Provide leadership to direct reporting HR members and manage a professional HR-team and participate as member of the Management Team.

Job requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Professional education in the field of Human Resources or Business Administration;
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar position;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience within complex organisations, with a preference for a manufacturing background (hands-on setting);
  • Experience with organisational development/change management;
  • Analytical and convincing;
  • Business oriented and a string sense of ownership;
  • Excellent understanding of Dutch labour legislation;
  • Proficient in Dutch and English.
