ABOUT THE JOB AND ABOUT THE TEAM: 

As a Demand Planner, you are responsible for developing the sales forecast, reporting on actual sales, and translating this data into the sales plan, which is then converted into a demand plan for the Supply Planner. You will work closely with the Supply Planner, ensuring that your latest insights guide their decision-making, help set priorities, and adjust supply plans as needed. You'll be part of a motivated team of two people. In this role, you will interact with various departments across the organization. Your input is valued, with a strong focus on improving the S&OP process. Focus in contribute to building the S&OP roadmap for the coming year. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Analyze actual sales versus the sales plan (evaluate forecast performance);
  • Determine baseline forecast based on historical data;
  • Discuss and challenge actual sales and the sales plan with Sales Directors/Key Account Managers, identifying risks and opportunities within the sales plan; 
  • Enhance the baseline forecast with market trends, NPD, and (macro)economic developments, resulting in a regional sales forecast;
  • Constantly review the sales plan with the Supply Planner;
  • Review sales plan with the financial plan;
  • Identify gaps in sales volume and value to meet business plans;
  • Review actual orders against business plans - discuss discrepancies and make necessary adjustments; 
  • Propose adjustments to sales plans based on data, market insights, New Product Development, and supply input;
  • Create different sales scenarios based on potential (market) changes (such as price increase or economical changes);
  • Ensure alignment between the sales plan and assortment plan (including product management review and follow-up);
  • Determine needed brand materials volumes (such as packaging material);
  • Initiate and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain department.

Job requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Academic qualification / Master’s degree in Logistics and Operations, Supply Chain management, Business Administration or a similar relevant degree ;
  • Knowledge of Finance (Margins, Days of Payables Outstanding, Turnover);
  • > 1 year relevant work experience in demand planning or supply chain planning;
  • You are fluent in English. Proficiency in French and Dutch is an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and preferably in Qliksense;
  • You are able to translate given qualitative market insights into quantitative information;
  • Critical towards data and input – able to challenge sales actuals, forecast and sales plan;
  • Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy;
  • Organized and structured.
