Category Manager

Description

We are looking for a fulltime Category Manager to join our product team.

The product team is currently changing towards a bigger focus on building sales and profit with products that satisfy consumer needs and establish competitive advantages. We would like to get in touch with candidates with a strong analytical, teamwork and communication skills and a keen eye for business development. Your daily work will be challenging and demanding, because you are the one who determine our product range. The product team consists of 3 category managers and they all have the support of a merchandiser.


Your job include this:

Insight: Determine data & feedback requirements relating to products, markets (consumers, competitors and customers.


Strategy: Develop and implement the product – new and existing - strategies of a category which are aligned with the total  product portfolio.

 

Go to Market (end to end management): Develop, coordinate & implement merchandise plan and go-to-market / launch plans for category which include: 

  • Identify forecast targets on sales, volume & GP on various time frames;
  • Determine prices of the full value chain and positioning these prices within the category;
  • Determine and apply assortment rules;
  • Determine the right channels, geographic and POP (retail-wholesale);
  • Determine the planning from concept to launch and ensure following up the deadlines.

Briefing various stakeholders:  

  • Creative on the items product-, merchandise attributes, margin, timing requirement;
  • Marketing on communication specifications & timing requirements;
  • Manufacturing  on volume targets;
  • Procurement/R&D on( raw) materials standards and purchase price and margin specification;
  • Sales on forecast, assortment(plan, price and rules), channel- and launch plan;
  • Finance on merchandise plan/margin/value chain.

New product development and project management: Identify new product opportunities within the category product ranges. Translate these into product development projects and manage them from concept to market delivery.

 

Feedback: Establish and maintain feedback loops on key KPI’s with various stakeholders.

Specific feedback on product & assortment & channel performances to effectively manage the business.

Requirements

What we ask of you:

You are an analytical, decisive and enterprising person and you see your added value in a tighter commitment and the shaping of a strong product organization across the company. You will interact a lot with various parties, why it is very important that you are able to communicate in a clear and understandable manner, while keeping in mind what the internal and external clients ask of you. You are capable of asking the right questions in order to gain a greater understanding of the needs of your environment. You are a real mediator and proactive when it comes to doing your job. Due to your natural desire to develop and improve, you will contribute in a proactive way to the continuing professionalization of the department. You have patience and decisiveness, to develop important changes and you can deal with the daily dynamics with a hands-on attitude.

Furthermore, we ask of you:

  • A bachelor or master degree in business (textile) management;
  • Category Management experience in an (international) organization in (preferably) the textile, fashion & luxury industry;
  • Change Management experience;
  • 5 years international work experience within Merchandising, product management;
  • You are a persuasive person who works hard and pays attention to detail;
  • You are analytical, good communicator and a team player;
  • You are fluent in English language and preferable Dutch and French;
  • Traveling to Africa is required several times a year;
  • Full-time availability in Helmond (15 km near Eindhoven).
